We're so glad you are considering registering your child for the Scripps National Spelling Bee! Please read below to see how WISE plans to organize each Bee, what to expect, and the timeline.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee is categorized by grade; early elementary, upper elementary, and middle school. Once registered, you will receive a list of spelling words and definitions that correspond with your child's grade for your child to study.

Registration Deadline: January 2, 2024

 

We will conduct 2 Spelling Bees; a Practice Bee and a Competition Bee. The Bees will be over Zoom. The Practice Bee will help children learn the rules of a Bee, the best way to maximize sound quality, and how the structure is set up. The Competition Bee will be identical to the first except it will be formal.

The winner of each grade section will receive their choice of

an educational game (or game expansion pack) from Amazon!​

Practice Bee: January 11, 2024, 10:00am (usually short, less than 30 minutes)

Competition Bee: January 12, 2024, 10:00am (usually a couple hours)

From there, the top student will go onto the Regional Bee. The date for the Regional Bee is February 15th, 2024, held at the Wisconsin Rapids Middle School. Who knows, if your child does well enough at Regionals, they could go on to State and maybe even Nationals!
