Brooke Thurber
Hello!
My name is Brooke Thurber, and I have worked for the Nekoosa School District in the Nekoosa Academy for two years. Nekoosa is where I attended school and graduated from in 2016. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and graduated in May of 2022. I double majored and received degrees in both Health Promotion and Wellness with a minor in Psychology, and Physical Education with a minor in Health Education and a certification in Adapted Physical Education. I currently attend the University of Concordia as I am earning another teaching certification in Alternative Education. Afterwards, I plan to attend the University of Wisconsin - Superior to complete my Master’s in Educational Administration. I'm also the Head Women’s Wrestling coach at Nekoosa High School, and coordinate with students and parents through NHS online. I look forward to working with WISE families to help their students succeed in their educational journey as education is my passion.
According to the Gallup Strengths Finder my top five strengths are, achiever, futuristic, learner, strategic, and competition. It is my goal to be able to support students using my strengths to help them achieve their goals. I'm excited for the future and can't wait to help assist WISE academy. I am looking forward to connecting with you all this school year!

Hello!
My name is Madison Skusevich. I am entering my 3rd year as a teacher, and my second year as a teacher at the Nekoosa Academy! I grew up in Nekoosa, where I attended NHS and graduated in 2016. After graduation, I attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point where I graduated with a degree in Broadfield Social Science Secondary Education, minors in History and Sociology, and received teaching certificates in Political Science and Psychology. I am currently continuing my education at UWSP to pursue my Masters degree in Education and a certification in Trauma and Resiliency. My next goal will be to earn my alternative education license from Concordia University, which I plan to start this Spring. As you can see, I love to continue learning! If you ever have a question that I might not know the answer to, that’s okay! I will help us get there.
My top five strengths, according to the Gallup Strengths Finder Test, are empathy, developer, belief, relator, and positivity. I hope to be a safe person who you can come to when you are stuck, need a helping hand, or just someone to talk to! I am excited to help serve the WISE academic community, and look forward to getting to know you this school year!
