CYT Chicago is one of the most respected children’s theater companies in northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin, producing family-friendly productions starring students ages 8-18 every year. Literature from the classroom comes to life on stage in quality productions with colorful costumes, professional staging, energetic choreography, and singing, paired with optional curriculum guides to help tie into the state educational standards.

The Sound of Music The Sound of Music transports us to Austria on the eve of World War II. Follow Maria, a young woman who becomes the governess for the von Trapp family. As Maria brings joy and music into their strict household, she forms a special bond with the seven von Trapp children and their father, Captain von Trapp. However, their newfound happiness is soon tested by the looming political turmoil and the challenges that seem to lie ahead.
