About the Event

Aviation is a fun, exciting, and stimulating subject, making the EAA Aviation Museum an ideal environment for learning! This full day will include a tour and two activities.

  • Wind Tunnel: Explore the mysteries of flight by creating a device to hover in a wind tunnel. While asking questions and making observations about air, students will learn about forces and how they make flight possible.

  • Pop Rockets: How far can you launch your rocket? Students will create a simple rocket from a straw that launches by squeezing a bottle. While gathering data from various tests students will build on their understanding of forces and learn about the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on rockets.

The day will include:

  • A 45-minute program/tour with an educator

  • Two fun, hands-on activities

  • Free time to explore and play

Arrive: 9:50am (This gives you a little time for parking, restrooms, and looking around.)

Event: 10:00am to 1:00pm (the tour and activities go until 1:00 - free time is after 1:00, so plan to stay and enjoy!)
