Local libraries have a lot to offer besides just checking out books. Check out their resource pages for ideas to keep the adventure going with our child’s learning. 

 

Madison Public Library - While you are at their website check out their ever changing weekly and monthly events for kids and teens, at its many locations

***Check out the BUBBLER MEDIA LAB. The Media Lab at Central Madison Public Library ( 1st Floor / 201 W. Mifflin St.) is a free space to explore digital media production in the realms of stop motion animation, 3D world design, green screen video, audio design and graphic design. The Media Lab is for anyone and everyone!

The Madison area has many museums to enhance your families learning. Check out their webpage for ideas to see which museum fits into your child’s learning plan. 

 

Wisconsin Historical Museum - Cost is $3/child, $5/adult. Week long summer programs are scheduled for students grade 3 and beyond. 

 

Madison Children’s Museum - Check out their many Learning Through Play exhibits. Cost $9/person. 

 

Chazen Museum of Art, UW Madison - Cost is Free. 

 

UW Madison Geology Museum - Cost is free. 

 

Mid-Continent Railway Museum, North Freedom, WI- Discover railroading history. Explore the indoor/outdoor museum featuring dozens of restored railroad cars and locomotives. Price varies.
