Survival Course - Class 1 - Navigation and Communication

This is the first class of four in a survival series. Each class is independent and can be taken according to interest. However, if your child would like to do the Survival Weekend, then all four online classes are required.

Geared: 3rd grade and older. Parental guidance may be needed for 3rd and 4th graders.
Younger-than-3rd-grade students are welcome to attend with active parental involvement.
Time: 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Online: A link will be sent to you a day or two before the class
Deadline to Register: extended to Sunday, February 2
Homework will be required in the form of tasks to complete and pictures taken (and uploaded) for proof of completion. All students will receive an orienteering compass as it will be needed to complete the homework.

Survival Weekend
April 25-26
Friday to Saturday in the town of Colburn.
Students will team up in small groups, each guided by a knowledgeable ROTC cadet.
With only a box of supplies, teams will tackle challenges: building a shelter, starting a fire, catching fish, and enduring the elements.
Parents are welcome to attend but are encouraged to observe from a distance to allow students to fully immerse in the experience.
