About the Event

Step back in time to appreciate old world ingenuity. The Little Chute Windmill and Van Asten Visitor Center is a functioning Dutch smock mill and interpretive center in Little Chute, Wisconsin, United States. The authentic wooden windmill is a tribute to the Dutch heritage of the village and the larger area known as the Fox River Valley in Wisconsin. Tours take visitors to the different levels of the windmill, allowing visitors to see the actual operation of the mill as it harnesses wind power to grind grain into flour.

9:30am – Meet in parking lot

10:00 to 11:00am – Tour museum and mill

12:00 – Picnic (optional)

Weather permitting, bring a sack lunch and visit Island Park. The park features handicap accessible fishing wharf, picnic tables, and ADA paved trails.  The park is open to bike and pedestrian foot traffic only.  Come enjoy a scenic walk along our asphalt paved Heritage Parkway Trail that connects Island Park to Heesakker Park, as well as leading you to the trail to the new Nelson Family Heritage Crossing that connects Little Chute to Kaukauna.
