About the Day

This is going to be a full day of learning and fun. We're thrilled that you are considering joining in!

 

Workshops will consist of using IXL data and effective time management; discussion of resources and learning styles; and discussion of multiple learning frameworks, how to use them, and how to connect them to learning plans. Children will have the opportunity to play all sorts of games and learning opportunities. And, of course, we'll swap curricula and materials.

 

Below, you will find the schedule of events and what a curriculum swap is. At the very bottom is a button to the registration form.

Schedule

9:30 to 10:00

10:00 to 11:30

11:30 to 12:30

12:30 to 2:00

2:00 to 2:30

  • Drop off curricula (see more about this below)

  • Limited breakfast provided

  • Escort children 4th grade and under to activities

  • Parents and children 5th grade up, meet in the cafeteria 

  • Introductions

  • 5th graders and older go with Madison and Brooke to the high school

  • Parents attend a 20-minute workshop (IXL or Resources)

  • Switch and attend the other 20-minute workshop (IXL or Resources)

  • Lunch and Curriculum Swap (food items listed below)

  • All children exit to appropriate activities 

  • Parents remain in cafeteria for group presentation (Learning Frameworks)

  • Snack, chat, depart

What is a Curriculum Swap?

Parents: Bring any materials that you no longer need or want that were purchased with WISE dollars. These items should be in a condition that other families can use, so please do not bring back used workbooks, journals, art paper, pencils/crayons, etc. 

Middle and High Schoolers: We need your help. From the time you arrive until 10:00am we ask that you help sort curricula materials by putting them on appropriate tables. 

Food for the Day

Morning: 

Donut holes, Kind bars

Lunch:

Pizza and salad

Afternoon: 

Graham crackers, Kind bars, rice crispy bars

Drinks all day:

Water, coffee, white milk, chocolate milk
